So to stop leechers and to make the forum with high quality good people, I think each person verifying the profile using mobile phone would be a really great way to approach this. Cause getting a new Sim card is not easier then creating a new email address and make fake accounts. This might be hard to implement. But it's not impossible.

Give me your view on my suggestion.

1. Probably not a good idea to give a forum your phone number. One because of security, second because of governments.
2. Would restrict or make harder for people to join, why would I want to give my phone number to some shady leaking forum?
3. We would probably have to invest in some service which would cost us.
4. There are free and paid phone number account confirmation services online.
5. It's not that hard to buy a sim for like $5 in your nearest Walmart or w/e.

Besides that, there are even free services online that provide these.
Also, new non-leechers will have to do this and this might decrease user sign-ups and thus potential growths.

Literally pointed both of them out in my post.

What I meant was, some people do not want to provide their number to a website. Others are too lazy, If I had to do this now, I would pass, not because I don't trust Aoki but due to possible breaches and taking a long time. I just today activated 2FA finally.

Yes. Pointed all of those out already.

Not really understanding this one... nor do I really back it. Phone verification wouldn't combat this issue? If you required persons to input a Valid phone number, what stops them from spoofing it? You'd have to manually check it, which isn't really a viable option for a forum site that isn't "Huge" per se.

If you're on about apps being used to verify, then that would just as easily be combated. The energy being used to implement and police such options wouldn't be worth the while, and in stoping leachers, you'd also hinder and deter normal users. Something not good for a forum.

Nothing will stop leechers from joining this forum tbh and like Faded said why would you share your personal phone number to some shady leaking forum?

Most people don't even tell or share their real name lol when it comes to online forum world.

Sharing phone no to a leak forum is like kicking your security wall by yourself only. And I don't think so that admin will ask for phone verification.

If it'll help me get a date, sure, hell yes! but real talk, no, I don't agree, like everyone else has said, adding your phone number is stupid and beyond risky, it wouldn't really stop leechers, I don't think anything ever will.
