Bitcoins, Is it a scam?

Sorry I originally posted this in the Lounge by mistake....

Who do you think is pulling the strings on bitcoin? At the beginning of this year it was only worth about $1000 and ran up over $16000. Does anyone else see that as strange or just the value really going up that high?

nope, its not a scam. value of bitcoin depends on various factors like market adoption demands, etc. it is expected to reach $40k at the end of next year
