Leaking

People leak scripts (talking about Garry's Mod in general) because, in my opinion, addons in Garry's Mod should not held behind a pay-wall.

I see why people make these paid addons, to get a little money on the side, but some addons that can be paid for are reasonably simple and you shouldn't be required to pay for them.

Some people really cant afford to pay for the scripts or would like to test them out before buying the constantly updated scripts

This is certainly not good, but we have no other choice))

Well I mean larger scale products that are generally expensive and or has a lot of depth of work and is supposed to be buy-only, then they'd be upset. It'd all depend on circumstances

With that logic, GMod servers shouldn't have donations.

It is not fair for GMod servers to have an income while the ones that actually make the fucking content get nothing.

It's hard to get a server popular on gmod and also if someone is playing on lan they wont be getting money in anyway!

Mostly use them to see their codes and learn more about Lua.

A lot of people can barely afford a server or just host one on their own PC. So those who leak make the scripts available to those who can't afford them.
