If gmod 2 does exist, I hope it's really hard to make a server with. The least thing we need is retards using a game to make money and put payment walls everywhere.

I don't think their will be a Garry's Mod 2. Gmod alone is enough and its still getting popular and people are still buying it everyday.
Why would the creator make a gmod 2 when everything is in Gmod.

Wouldn't make much sense to make a Garry's Mod 2 until Source 2 comes out.

But there is a new project going on called S&dbox or something, that's going to be very close to what Garry's Mod can do.

S&box is garry's mod but improved to the point of not being a source engine game anymore. It's sorta like putting a platinum tinge on a bar of gold. There's a discord too! Facepunch has it in the pins of their discord for #sandbox.
