Growing your server

What are methods to really pull players in?
I know having the right addons is key, but what about actual advertising like vote sites, etc..
What are the best methods to bring more consistent volume to a DarkRP (this case, or specify your own)

I said this in another thread but you need unique content to make your server far different from others ( kinda hard since most servers use the same shit from gmodstore ) so invest in learning LUA or hiring someone that will do the job for you. Aside from the content, you will need very mature and friendly staff because you don't want retards abusing and decreasing the player count. Advertise your server on multiple advertising websites, or post on places that you can on like facepunch etc... If you wanna do DarkRP then sure but TTT and other gamemodes are less maintaining and easier to be "unique". Good luck with your server(s)

i have a server dark rp, is on alpha but we are dedicating so much in server, i hope will be a good server

I have said it before and I'll say it again; Make sure you have a group of friends/people that you know will join.
That will get your server to actually show up on the Gmod server list and get attention.

I've had a few good solid players come in and stay and stay in discord etc.. As i'm still sort of fresh to Gmod functionality it's little harder to grow from nothing; however with my work in lua (learning curves), and having a solid server setup with proper non bloaty addons it's coming out great.
I'm maybe going to focus on vote sites when I finalize all of my standards though. It'd be nice to have a good player base ratio but I wouldn't accept it cause I don't feel as if i'm ready or my server is ready to be at that level of greatness, perhaps that's being modest I suppose since people say I deserve the best etc..

Just hoping to find the right group of people to move forward with.

Get a group of friends or people that you know to join and also make sure to have your content as unique so players want to join your server then other servers. :D

Having a DarkRP server to begin with should be enough. I get 20+ new visitors in my TTT server everyday, a gamemode that doesn't nearly have the same traffic as DarkRP.

Not being super trash, spamming your server with Gmodstore addons. Rinse and repeat

Growing your server: Make it unique. Yes it's hard with Gmodstore and such nowadays, but even the smallest things make a big difference.

I would not have a clue but my friend has just made a Darkrp server which is currently in dev but once it done it will be great
