I suggest you to pick either Samsung Galaxy S4 or the S5. They are really good, and they would be around 150 for the S4 and around 200$ for the S5.
Or, you can go with Chinese phones. They have really good price for the quality. I have bought Oukitel k6000 pro and it was absolutely wonderfull. Bit heavy, but the battery was 3 times more than an Iphone and 2 times better than Samsung S7

Going for a cheap isn't really the best option as the phone could be very old, low quality, and run things very slowly. I would recommend getting a Google Pixel 2 you can get like $300 off if you trade in, and its a really good phone with always updated to the latest Android system version, plus is run really fast, amazing quality, and I've tries to break this thing or drop it so many times and it just never breaks!

Xiaomi Mi A1 is a good choice, but depending where you are, it might not support your carrier (Xiaomi phones and most phones like it like OnePlus use GSM instead of CDMA).

You're probably better off getting last year's models given that the next batch of phones will arrive soon.
yeah

Lots of factors can change that $300 dramatically. $300 is assuming your device is mint condition.
yeah

If you're into custom ROMs running AOSP, you can forget about Samsung Galaxy flagship phones. Otherwise, if you just need a good phone, the Galaxy S4 or S5 is perfect, as another user said.
