I have been programming for years and I think having a programmer/coder award would make sense, no matter what this site is based around. The award would be given to capable programmers who have proved what they can do, or to people who are just known to be a good programmer. Maybe, you could even set up some fun challenges for the community to try to obtain the award. The reason I am suggesting this is because I was looking through the awards and I didn't see one. Thanks for reading and let me know what you guys think.

Noting what the requirements would be and how to get it would be a good start to getting your suggestion taken into mind.

This would be a good award to have since we do have one for Web Development and also Graphic Design.
I believe an award like this would also help boost overall activity within the Programming forums.
Please read the award requirements here before applying for them.

I would be interested in this, but to be blunt with you.. Our programming sector doesn't seem to have many contributors at the moment to make that award relevant.

If we see a rise of programmers on the forums, we'll add it, right now it feels a bit unnecessary.

I am a programmer and I just joined the forums. I am sure new people will register who are programmers as well.
