It's hard to get recognized as a good server nowadays, try to be as innovative as possible

I will not say try to be as innovative as possible. To be honest, some things are needed to be oldschool. Why? Because people know some of the stuff already and can use that. I really enjoy playing on new DarkRP Servers because everything is new. New people, new staff and new stuff. But to have some old stuff that I'm used to, is always good in my mind.

I started mine with this youtube tutorial

And I recomend you make a To Do list when adding stuff to your sv

Limit "VIP" jobs as much as you can, they're the real cancer of DarkRP.

Try to focus more on gameplay addons and what-not.

There are so many servers out there, so you want to get different addons and a decent map unlike most servers.

It would be nice if your server had a police job with a plus because then you could do this job for vips and have extra weapons.

It is incredibly difficult to make successful DarkRP servers because if you have no players you will get no players, and there are so many other empty servers that can't get populated that your chances are almost nil.
PrisonRP would definitely be easier to populate as long as you can manage to get about 10 other friends on to get it started. It definitely needs to be a keeper as well, for which I would suggest having something to earn/work towards that would attract players to come back. For DarkRP that's simply earning money with printers, yet for a PrisonRP you could have mining with an upgradable pickaxe to earn money.

-No pay 2 win (limit your vip perks)
