Should MW2 be remastered?

Yes, mw2 is the second best cod game in my opinion, with bo2 being the first.

I absolutely believe MW2 would strive as a remastered release.

Universally (across all COD games), everyone (hopefully) has heard of MW2 and a large majority of those who have played it properly will give their two cents on how great the game is. I'm not one to say "Graphics are everything" but to have a much more indepth, realistic experience in MW2 would be a nostalgic ride. One thing they shouldn't do though is remove no Russian. That level may be controversial as fuck but it was a huge aspect of the games storyline at the time.

Am I the only one who wants to return to the glorious days of CoD4 Promod? Best FPS game in history.

Yes to an extent. I think if they make the game look new but not tweak too heavy on the mechanics it'll be good.
