Story
MAL:
Quote:Risa and Otani are always being laughed at as the comedy duo. Risa, a girl, is taller than the average girl, and Otani, a boy, is shorter than the average boy. The two are always bickering and even their teacher sees them as a comedy act. But as their friendship develops, so do Risa's feelings toward Otani.

The story is about the tallest girl in her class that starts to fall for the shortest guy. This in itself is a little more unique and different from other romances. It has a lot of comedy mixed with some drama and of course romance. I found it hit the nail on the head on every aspect, especially the comedy, was quite funny. I found myself laughing and then suddenly stopping once it hit it's dramatic moments. Really did good in those fields.

You will get a lot of "rivals" throughout the series to shake them up when Otani and Risa get closer together. Was fine for the start but they do it a lot and it seems to drag the series on longer and you think to yourself "did I just watch this?." None the less, you can easily see pass that since they do a lot more than that as well. Though the ending you will find it was all worth it, since Risa works so hard to make Otani like her.

Art
The art work is nothing like Clannad or Kanon, etc. It's like looking at let's say One Piece or maybe even a bit like Hunter x Hunter in some areas. Older styled kind of. But you can appreciate how they used the art for their comedy sketches and the dramatic moments it shows. Using pretty colors and dark auras to show their emotions and that was always great to see. Some of the faces the characters made was just too funny and some even tugged at your heart strings a tad when it got sad and more intense.

Sound
The sound was great, I preferred the 1st set of opening and ending songs rather than the second, due to how much more smooth it was and how it made me feel when I was watching it. They do well also with how they add sounds to the atmosphere of a scene as well. The sound track is pretty decent if I say so myself.

Characters
Some can argue that the characters could be found annoying, especially Otani for being SO dense. Sometimes you sit there and think how stupid can a person really be? Risa is slightly indecisive but you can't disregard her determination to get Ontai's love (Or you could call her a stalker.)
Then you have your supporting characters such as:
Nobuko
Nakano
Tanaka
Suzuki

Nobuko was hilarious, she really gave Risa a kick in the ass whenever she was losing hope and it worked out amazingly.
Nakano helped Otani, though it was pointless because Otani was just so damn dense.
Tanaka was just there really, she wasn't much to anything, same with Suzuki. They are what starts it though, but after that they just sit back and act along.

Ending
The ending was everything I wanted and more. Why? Because it actually gave you an ending and didn't leave you on a stupid cliff hanger, hoping for another season or something. You get what you want and it's a cute, happy ending and even funny as well. Puts all the genres that are included in this anime into one decent ending.

My rating here:
9/10

I gave it a 9 because the story was great, just dragged on at some parts and I HATED how dense Otani was and Risa came off as a stalker and kept "giving up" but keeps trying again, was kind of getting old after a few episodes. It is highly recommended though for any romance lover.

You, my friend, should apply to Anime. I would love to see more reviews from you.
Pretty well structured. I think I have seen this anime but I don't really remember if I liked it all that much.
Would have to check but yeah I think you should apply to Anime.

Thanks, these are obviously old reviews but thought I'd share my content on here too. I am going to get back into reviews I think with newer animu soon. I do like doing it as I like writing.

I don't know what the requirements are for the group but I'll be sure to check it out and apply when I can.

You just have to be active on the forum and have positive rep so you meet the requirements. I like reviewing anime and writing I just don't consider myself a good reviewer.

In the past I've only reviewed anime I loved and took the time to do them because of that. I want to do it to anime that I didn't like as well, and explain why I didn't. These older reviews were kind of bias/easy going. I think going forward I'll try to be a little more ciritcal so people have a better understanding on what they are going into if they decide to watch it.

Also ah, okay. Then I shall apply when I get the time to.

Yeah for sure I have a hard time reviewing anime I didn't like a lot but I like reviews that are subjective and honest about the flaws in the anime.

Great review. The anime is indeed good but the Manga version is way <3. One of my favorites.
Would be nice if you review less popular anime as well. ^^
