NO. There was no point to move from S7 to S8 at all. Maybe in S10 (SX?) they will change something and not just add few features).

If you need 4k/60FPS then yeah - you can move to S9.

Im currently using S7 edge and will not change the phone until samsung presents something better than S9 currently.
Total loss of money for me.
And it kinda looks the same as S8,.

Id say honestly if you have anything below the series 7 phones then sure id upgrade, but otherwise its just a waste of money for sub par changes.

If you already have the S8, don't get the S9. It's not that big of an upgrade in the first place.

I have the S8+ and I highly doubt that I will upgrade to the S9+ because there is not too much of a difference on looks. The only really changes are all under the hood, and besides what everyone says, the fingerprint reader on the S8+ doesn't bother me at all.

I have a Samsung S8, and looking at the S9, it won't be a huge upgrade.
I'd stay until they have some major upgrade in the future.

I tend to upgrade Samsung every 3 releases. I had a first galaxy, then Galaxy 4 and still on galazy s7 at the moment. I choose the edge this time, which I will never do again Smile it cracked 7 days after I purchased the phone. I never replaced the screen as they changed it so you cannot replace only the first glass part, but the whole led if this breaks (not the case with the older versions), but 2 years later it still seems to be working even though there is a crack on the screen.

I believe I am waiting for version 10 as well Smile

I see no point in taking 9 samsung if there are past versions before 7, I would not take

Always skip a generation. The changes are big enough to justify the cost in my opinion
