why do people hack?

If we are talking games, i think it's similar to the bully mentality. They like the reaction of others feeling powerless.

If we are talking in general, for black hats, it either for monetary gain or similar to above. You need to watch Black Mirror and the episode about the kid that gets recorded jerking off and blackmailed.

For white hats, there is also monetary gain, but I think these types of people really just want to help and prevent people from being taken advantage of.

why not? It's fun to hack and troll other ppls or creating on hacks in c++ and playing around with cheat engine :D

I think to just get the satisfaction of crushing other players fun. through skill or not. its always satisfying.

because its fun & its easy to cheat on alot of games nowadays

I think, there are mainly reasons:
a) people are too poor to get something,
b) people try to show something works wrong

We humans take pleasure in doing something we aren't supposed to, and we also enjoy having power. Another reason would be for knowledge purposed, as in the creation of cheats.

I get bored in games and it's fun to try and not get caught. -hack-
