Gmod messes up my internet - anyone else?

Whenever I join a server on Gmod, the houses internet just dies for like 3 minutes until I am loaded into the server. Its been happening for around 6 months now and no idea what causes it. It is extremely annoying to everyone else whenever I join my server. Does anyone else have this?

Also if I do not close Gmod via the esc - quit option, the entire thing just crashes -_-

You have a VERY terrible Internet. I've never met this problem. Talk to your provider.

The problem is probably your internet download speed. Once you login into a server, your client starts downloading every data file it needs which will reduce the internet speed for other users obviously.

just gonna respond to this.. I used to have this issue aswell, this has nothing to do with internet speed or anything. It did stop after a while though. Check your router settings or call your service provider to find out why this is happening.

i think its only you because i got 500 hours only on darkrp server and i did not had that problem

Probably the server requires too much internet?
It's really weird but you should probably upgrade your internet download speed.
