I talk to myself periodically! it is actually more common than people think. It's amazing how certain things we do alone may seem weird, but are done around the world by many other individuals. I first started noticing the practice of talking to yourself after I observed my mother and father both doing it to themselves on separate occasions. I find it interesting because, in one regard, someone could see that person as "cracking up" or mentally becoming unstable. At the same time, to recall scenarios in your mind and talk yourself through them would appear to be a type of self-therapy. So what I've come to learn is that talking to yourself has mixed reviews among people, in general. Do you lot do it or just the nutters?
Glad to be back Ez

I do this too. Speaking is a little bit like writing, in that having to articulate your thoughts can help you to clarify them. I also tend to remember things better if I've talked about them, even if only to myself. This was also a way to keep myself sane when I had to intern at a company and worked all by myself and had no one to talk to. But it gets weird when I get into arguments with myself. It is a kind of self-therapy as you said and I don't believe anyone that does this is deemed crazy unless you actually mumble out loud in public places haha.

Talking to yourself is much different than dogs in my opinion, its what makes humankind so different. It is based on rational thought then just feeling.
