Hows minecraft been doing since microsoft took over, has it gotten more popular, less popular or has nothing changed?

Stopped playing the game a couple years ago just curious how its doing now.

The audience has shifted from primarily PC players to console players galore. I think there have been more sales of the console versions than the original. This video explains a lot of what it feels like today:

The game just went to complete shit honestly. Microsoft tried to make more money buy making texture packs, custom maps, skins, etc all paid things in the game when in the original java game you'd be able to do so without paying for anything. But, I think the PC player base is mostly in the java version around 1.7-1.8

I do believe that some good things did come out of Microsoft buying minecraft I.E. crossplay but it also had its share of bad things come out of it cause paying for texture packs maps and skins is just kinda bullshit cause upon the announcement of "coins" notch himself expressed his hate of these with a single crying emoji

Minecraft died when the Adventure Update (1.8) got shipped. Killing seed-sharing and ruining the gamespace early on with hunger was terrible.

I recently wanted to see a video of someone explaining why minecraft is dead and this one explains it pretty well.
