it is 'i' which is the first concept of complex numbers. People call it an imaginary number, but that's not quite correct. It is more like a mathematical placeholder containing useful information that can be used in calculation.

This thread is pointless lmao
"i" is just a placeholder for something that we haven't come to terms with. We can use it to figure out other things, but if we really look at it, we don't completely know what the answer is, probably because there is no answer, only something that we can use a placeholder with to use it in some kind of advanced mathematical question.
