Which type of a server is better?

A skyblock modded server is going to be far easier to manage than an open-world survival modded server.
If you're going to host it for just your friends, either will be around the same...
But if you're looking to open it to the public, managing a modded Skyblock server is going to be far easier than a Survival Modded server, because you won't need to worry about griefing or anything along those lines, the plugin will sort that out for you, and you won't need admins and moderators to manage the server,

Skyblock is always fun but it depends on the person, if they like to have a challenge then go for Skyblock, survival can be much easier!

personally i like survival servers without any plugins or plugins like authme

Try to make up a Factions server. But you know, since there are tons of Factions servers, I'd recommend to add something to the server, which makes it really unique. Something, you won't see on other servers. It can be something like, if user has certain amount of playtime, they receive new items/kits. This is just an idea.

Hosting a modded server will also get a lot more people to join (assuming they knowhow to install mods)
because there is more to do.
If you're able to set up either kind of a server, you need to be prepared to advertise it literally everywhere in order for it to succeed!

Skyblock is nice if you don't like to mine and explore like me.. kk

I prefer skyblock, with a good economy it is the best mode to play imo

I think CityBuild and SkyBlock is great. - And the "big" servers all have no mods.

I'd say make a Factions server, but i will be hard, to get people.

I love the hunger games types of server where you can show ur skills.
