Originality is one key to having the best server. Making your own add-ons and or making the server stand out is one of the most important.

Yeah, of course, but there is a process for each, and you have to be very commited in the start so always listen to others and explain what your server is about, have a non-toxic staff, that would be a good start.

Also have some gambling features, real progression like farming something, goals to live for, dont let your players get bored

Those things are correct but just common sense. Just be patient and invite your friends, tell them to invite theirs.
