CodeIgniter 3, i love him. It's easy to install (Only unzip, no need to use composer to install third party addons), it's work very well on Shared Hostings.

Laravel is something special. I just really love it. It literally read its documentation while sitting at work (a non web dev job). It's a bit of learning curve I think if you're not used to this type of frameworks. There's just so many great features that make building an app super quick. And the devs have created packages which extend it, basically with the subscription business model start-up thing in mind, which is cool. You can also get a thing which is like a console... for PHP. Honestly. I'm in love.

Laravel is the best choice, but many enterprise companies are using Zend Framework, so I'd suggest you head in that direction since that is where the money is.
