A nice FREE HTML editor

Visual studio code is pretty good as well. But brackets i think is good for people just starting out. As you get more advanced you'll need better editors.

i dont use any specific software to write css/html/javascript. Mostly i use sublime. Sublime also have to many plugin increase your write speed

I personally prefer https://atom.io/ as it supports multiple languages and is a great way of editing many files, due to it's project functionality.

I normally use studio visual code, its also a really good code editor.

Atom is a great editor for web development and may lead you further into exploring with web development. I've tried Brackets, but it's a little basic, but it's great to start with especially since it shows you a live page. It comes all down to preference at the end of the day, though.

I wouldn't recommend switching text editors/IDEs too often tho. You should get one, customize it, learn it and keep it. I used to have the bad habit of chaning quite frequently. I remember installing a VM with OS X just to be able to use Expresso (https://espressoapp.com/) and then I switched to Coda 2 (https://panic.com/coda/). I decided that it was dumb to use a VM just to code so I started using atom (https://atom.io/). After some time I switched to PHPStorm (https://www.jetbrains.com/phpstorm/) and since I have the right to a free license I gave it a try. I liked it a lot but it was too slow to startup and I guess I felt limited. In a way I decided to give Sublime Text a shot and it is not my go to editor. (https://www.sublimetext.com/) If you take some time to learn it and customize it, you will love it. This happens to any editor. It all comes down to personal taste I guess. However I remember that back when i used atom, it was a bit slow and not as efficient. :D
