Use a local wallet and encrypt with password.

And also make sure that you are virus free.

I recommend everyone to put their bitcoin onto a trezor or similar device. If possible, put a password on it. Store it in a safe place and write down your backup seed.

Don't connect the device to the internet at all.

Hardware wallet + biometric signature lock will be the most secure way.

After being over a year and a half into cryptocurrency I moved out from online wallets, bought a 100$ physical wallet which works fine, it has a two step verification alongside 2 pins that you should never forgive. It saves a lot of coins ( the most generic ones like: btc, eth, ltc ... ) and it works like a charm, there is a cloud copy of your wallet and all the information is backed up in case your physical wallet breaks or something you can always restore it with the 12 secret words, the 2 pins and the two step verification. Overall a very secure way to keep your crypto currency from hackers and in general from "internet" afterall you have them physically, just make sure you do not lose the physical wallet / ( pen drive ) . Haha.

Well I usually don't use ewallets but when I do, I make sure to always use two-factor authentication and always make a backup of it
