What is the point of credits?

I've always wondered what the use if for because you still are getting things for free, you get free credits I just don't see the point you should just be able to download stuff for free but of course no one likes the word free in business situations. We all have those moments where we say why does that cost so much that is the moment I'm having while using this website I feel limited and makes me want to leave and never return.

The reason for credits is to prevent people from just googling a release and downloading it, contributing nothing to the forum. Credits encourage people to share.

This is too necessary garbage, so do not even know it is unfortunate!

The only thing I don't like is I have to post 8 times to get 8 credits just to get 1 DL link. If it were something like 4 credits I wouldn't mind it. :(

The credit system makes sure people are not data mining software and providing nothing in return. It encourage people to share their treasures.
