How are servers like Icefuse popular?

I have 2600 hours on GMOD. I've seen all servers, in all game modes, from all different communities. Servers like Monolith Gaming, Chronet, all fantastic with custom scripts and a very unique outtake on the DarkRP genre. But servers that icefuseproduce are just not that good. I hop on and see default shit with trashy huds and bad coding for some things. This is no hate on Icefuse, I know a lot of the people and staff in the community but how exactly are they always on the top over other better coded communities?

I DONT KNOW, ive been playing on this server ICE community and it sucks, yeah this servers got really custom content but the community just makes it unplayable. but you cannot find a good community and good server quality. at least i dont think so. been browsing throu alot of servers....

So heres a few reasons why servers are popular.

1) They have been up for years, I have seen servers last a month and go down instantly it takes AGES to build a solid community so keep your server for 1 - 2 years and enjoy it.
2) Their developers know what their doing, Most servers have 0 clue what their doing as I said before will shut down in a month.
3) Their staff are active and actually mature, Most servers get as many staff as they can to get their playerbase up but this is stupid as they wont do their job correctly.
4) Their unique, If you have a unique server that works correctly and works well together, It will make people want to stay and play.

Most servers (starwarsrp) do 1 event every few days, This will make the server VERY VERY boring so try to do an event everyday maybe 2 - 3 events per day.

Played on icefuses military rp for like 1 hour, it was the most boring shit i did last month. 20 minutes download a fuck ton of weapons, waited more 30 minutes just to get trained by a kid, reddit level circlejerk in chat and etcetera. Fucking miss me with this "bless the troops" shit.
