They have quality products, however they are too costly. for the same price you might be able to get two of similar product

I bought a 2017 iMac with an i5 and an Radeon Pro 580 a few months ago and it's been amazing. The only problem I've had so far is I have to relearn a lot of stuff. I bought it off a friend for 2250 and it has a few dents in the stand and some huge scratches on the metal and that's how I got the lower price. I agree, the Apple tax is fucking crazy but for my uses, it's absolutely amazing. The iWork programs like Pages and Keynote are really, really frikin good and with the 580 in the machine (it's basically a little worse than a Radeon Pro 580) I get consistent FPS in 1080p at high or even ultra, and sometimes I can crank the resolution up too. And don't get me started on the 5k screen! It's honestly absolutely amazing.

I've owned a lot of Apple products over the years and there have been very few times that I've genuinely regretted buying one. I bought a second generation iPod Touch and to this day, it's still working. I've got an iPad Mini 2 and after 3 years of use (I bought it in 2015), it's still working beautifully. I've got an iPhone 6, and though it's a bit slow now, it's still my main phone and I have no reason to upgrade. I don't know what the heck you guys are doing with your stuff.

Look, I'll admit that at times, Apple is a shitty company. Their butterfly keys on their Macbooks are horseshit and I had a 2016 Macbook Pro for a few weeks and I returned it to the seller (I got it off eBay) which has barred me from getting any laptops post 2016 from Apple. The recent issue with the batteries and them slowing down iPhones has made me lose respect for them. I could forgive this if the prices were lower. The top of the line Macbooks as of 2018 will run you out 10k here in Canada when you could get a way better laptop for 3k. iMacs with 5k displays are recently priced imo though. I'll never buy brand new Apple products, only refurbed or used.

At the end of the day, Apple works for me amazingly. I only speak for myself though, and experiences differ among people.

they try to lock people down to an ecosystem while still not allowing you to repair their products (or they atleast make it extremely difficult)

That's why you should never buy an apple product unless you want to experience being cucked.

the only thing Apple has going for them is data encryption. i still prefer Android where i can root and get full access to a device that i paid for
