I don't think it makes sense to mine now and days unless you have a really high powered system. Otherwise you're wasting your time.

I think it is because, if you have power in your pc. You will double what you make..

At one time I was able to do mining on my computer, then I even went out and purchased hardware from butteryfly labs. The truth though is now that everyone who is making even a little money has special hardware decided for mining, and the difficulty rate continues to increase.

In today's world, it's not economical to mine, you are not going to make any money, even if you purchase the appropriate mining gear.

For profit you can't mine with just 1 GPU and it's not profitable anymore, you use more electricity than you mine.

From what I heard mining bitcoins is not worth it anymore, it's better to mine alt coins and exchange them or receive payouts in mining pools in bitcoins if you want to "mine" bitcoins.
