Keep my i5 or uprage to i7?

i currently just build my new gaming pcand sadly found out a could have gotten a better processor. So howthe story goes i bought my pc and everything to later find out my best friends dad worksfor Intel and can get me a 8700k brand new for $175. My question is should i get the i7 even though my computer is less than 3 months old or should i bang out my current 8600k?? heres my current setup

I'd say just keep the same CPU that you have. Your rig is pretty good so there really isn't any need for a BETTER CPU. I mean, if you want extra speed then go for it but it isn't really necessary.

I dont need New CPU but You can upgrade your grapisc card but if you want render or someing like that you must do upgrade your cpu

I agree with Entity there is no real reason you would need to upgrade your CPU Your specs can handle most modern games with ease

If anything, you should upgrade your graphics card. Even something like 1070ti would provide huge boost in gaming.

upgrade, always have the best CPU, never be cheap with a cpu

I mean, I have the 8700k and it's a beast, if he can get you the 8700K for that price, I'd def upgrade, If I were you I'd get a 1070/1070TI paired with it btw!

I'd say keep it. An i7 with hyperthreading is only useful when it comes to video editting/photo editting or streaming. If you're going to be doing any single one of those, definitely switch.
