Look, while it may seem like a simple or stupid question- I have seem many online articles or videos that have explained that I just don't understand - I am hoping that reaching out within the community might!

It depends on you actually, and also did you know that you can actually mine some coins only through browser instead of downloaded software. It is your choice. You can start mining by register yourself at Coinimp (for Monero currency) website which their services let you mine coins through browser only.
Note: Mining coins on your browser only uses CPU power unlike downloaded software.

Find yourself some trusted online wallet which can hold your coins, and of course there are some sites can only hold certain currency like My Monero Wallet which is for Monery currency.

paxful is my personal favourite bitcoin site, since you don't need to provide any verification whatsoever to buy on it and there's also purchase minimums.
of course bitcoin is pretty dead so you might prefer to buy monero, in which case i'd recommend just going to whatever p2p monero site you can find (localmonero might be good, haven't used it though so i can't really say.)

so what's the thing with btc? i'm not sure if i want to start trading with btc, i mean i prefer the solid cash to handle with
