Tips on starting a server?

Some basic information. I want like a DarkRPserver and I've got most of the admin privileges up and I've got the hosting sorted.

Any tips on making it better? (I know this is pretty broad, but I mean is there tips on making the server user-friendly but fun to play)

Start by downloading a leaked Darkrp server and start editing instead of starting from scratch.

Do you need to know a certain language to make a server on darkrp?

Start with getting devs to test out your server. When you feel it is free to open it for the public, do so, but I would recommend adding the addons first.

After owning a DarkRP server for over 5 years now i would say to avoid it, the gamemode is saturated and 99% of new servers will fail to grab any players, either make it actually unique and not slam packed full of gmodstore addons or just make your own thing, a new gamemode or even try something other than darkrp.

Youll just be loosing money and time if you invest in this.

do a great server whit custom addon and a good map

Have a clear idea of what you want to do with the server and also custom content that is very uncommon or never seen

for start gmod server you need to know at least basics of lua language
