I hear the devices are recording you without you asking for them or giving 'consent' and storing conversations in a database. They machine learn to figure out your likes/dislikes to use for advertising on your other devices/phones/etc.
Do you own one and are you concerned or do you even care?
I bought Alexa to test it but sent it back. I mean, I finally had a girlfriend but this plastic, diabolically..thing was a bit too creepy afterall. Always listening man..

I've seen some videos were Alexa couldn't answer to certains questions.
I choose not to take it because of other reason, as you said it's enough for me having already 2 female next to me wich is bad having the 3rd one =))
Both of my parents have an Amazon Echo (Alexa), and I think it's super cool. I would never get one myself because I truly feel as though they constantly monitor what I'm saying and I am not comfortable with that. It's not like I'm doing anything illegal or vocalizing threads, but I don't like the thoughts of something/someone constantly listening.
Although... I would really like to get a Google Home to control my lights and music. That'd be really cool.
