How do people get build ideas in minecraft.Any tips?

Ah, it just comes from creativity, inspiration and experience. You could watch YouTube videos, maybe you find something helpful

Just try to make a realistic city and build different houses with nice designs

In my experience, it's best to find the overall theme of what you're attempting to convey through your builds. For example, if you're creating an old english village, look at images of 1600s - 1700s, and identify what kinds of blocks you'd be able to use to make the build look like what's in the picture. Magical frog with wings? What blocks would best convey the look of wings at the scale you're going for? How much detail in the frog are you looking for?

TLDR; Use references, identify what's best to use in the style of what you're going for.

I've been forcing myself to build in weird biomes lately, it's a really good way to expand your build style. Making it match with the terrain and make sense with the environment around you makes it a ton of fun!
Try building in the really crazy biomes like ice spikes, etc. Adds an exploration aspect into it

You should watch more movies, read more comics,..... I got my idea from it (Although I built kinda bad)
