i am sure everyone has heard about it by now, people have been making claims that this can be really dangerous and some of them arent far from truth. I wanted to know whats ur thought on it.
It's terrifying tbh. I have worked on one of those projects and the way they get replicated my my. The entire civilization is built on a set of 'contracts' A deep fake throws it out of the window. Unfortunately, as days come closer many of the less tech savvy people will fall prey to scams engineered using the same. Skynet is near.

People use deep fakes to manipulate video footage, showing other people commit acts they never actually committed. And the scary part it's that it's really straightforward to use, you just require a PC with a powerful CPU. The way it works is by like combining images of someone else with a source video/image, it replaces the face of the person in the source video/image with the face of someone else, be it a celebrity or a person who has less influence. This leads to cases of revenge porn and things like that. That said tho I really don't get some replies to this thread, like wtf?

i am surprised that u havent heard about it yet. its mostly going to be use for revenge porn and framing someone as a criminal, a example of this would be Kylie Jenner fake porn video and for the replies, i am also confused what the hell they are talking about.
