I know the thread is old but please stop suggesting that HTML and CSS are coding languages.

HTML is an acronym for HyperText Markup Language. It's a language to mark up content.

CSS is a style language (Cascading Style Sheet), used to style mark up languages.

You can develop all you want in HTML/CSS but they are not programming languages.

I would suggest you start building bots, starting with simple login bots.
Take up a project and learn a language as it progresses.
Python imho is the best language beginners should start with.
It's easy to learn and the possibilities one could explore are endless.

HTML/CSS are 'languages' so please stop suggesting them.

If you wanna start making apps I suggest Ionic framework. You can learn building apps, while learning javascript, html, css.

Coding is as hard as you make it. I started out with C, the Java and LUA but there are plenty of resources to help you, such as forums, documents and online sessions.

I started by learning Python, and then moved onto Java. Also learned front-end web (HTML, CSS, bit of JS). Then learned SQL whilst learning Java. Hope that helps! If you have a lot of dedication, and an end goal in mind ("in 6 months I want to make this program.."), then you will find yourself improving at a good pace Smile

I am currently learning python for data science and definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in machine learning.

Personally I can only recommend learning C++.

Its a real hard task to master it.

Pointers will cause the most confusion for you.

But if you can handle C++ you can do almost everything.
