I've used Win 10 & several Linux based distributions

In my opinion there is no single best operating system, it all depends on what the need of the user is. If you're just an average consumer with no real understanding of the internet of things, then Windows is probably the best choice.
If you're someone who really wants to learn more about technology and programming, a Linux based Distro would probably suit you more. Good ones to start out with would probably be Debian/Ubuntu/Linux Mint.
If you're already experienced in all of the aforementioned, then why are you here? In all seriousness though, probably Gentoo or Arch for those types of people.

If you know how to use linux!
Use LinuxMint! it has beautiful interfaces, is for all low cost PCs ...

I use Windows 10 ans GNU/Linux (Linuxmint and GS Voyager), in between I have a preference for GNU / Linux is better for programming and the network and especially to better understand how the computer generally. Windows I use it for video games mainly, although I also use linux but the latter is less ergomic for this area.

I have been using Windows for a long long time at home. Windows has that "ease of use" compared to Linux plus the availability of software/games for windows gives it that edge. But for work/hosting, I prefer Linux due to it's stability and robustness and ease of configuration.
