My dad made up a rule to stop my big brother from asking about getting a dog every ten seconds. We had neighbors on both sides who had dogs, so the rule was that only every other house could have a dog. My brother believed it for a looonnnngg time.

My mother hated farting. Like a lot. So much so that if I farted "too hard" in front of her she'd yell at me. When I was younger I'd even get grounded.
As I got older though she became more lenient, I literally wasn't allowed to fart around her.
She still doesn't like it. Sometimes I do it just to fuck with her.

Kinda depressing looking back at it, but me and my brother were never allowed to show emotion. Anything less than "fine" was absolutely unacceptable. Screwed me up for a long time, and if anyone else is going threw that, I urge you to seek professional help.
