When it first came out, it was heavily advertised as a social media platform, and I understand that many forums are going that direction to stay afloat but I assume that this forum and many others use vB5 and it doesn't seem that bad.. the image of it certainly doesn't seem social media wise, just a massive face-lift.
So the question of the thread is:
Has everyone moved to vB5 at this point in time? Which do you prefer, vB4 or vB5 (hell, maybe even vB3)? For a modern community, gaming especially, do you believe vB is a valuable resource or would another software fit me? (Mentions of Discord.. as I'm sure it will pop up aren't necessary. I've already have one.)
I tried vBulletin 5 in the past and it sucked. I recently tried vBulletin v5.5.1 again and it has much improved. It is stable and fast. The thing is, that there are very little add-ons, mods, and extensions for vBulletin 5 at the moment. That will change, but it will take time.
