Hard drugs

Is it true that u can be a complete different person as in mentality change mood swings 24/7 when using hard drugs i saw alot of people finding tripping everyday not remember how they live etc etc

I know a couple of people who use hard drugs, but they are pretty normal funcioning people with "weird hobby"
