What kind of game is your dream game?

A full time travel simulation.

It starts by generating a history, using a tukeset like a bunch of AIs playing civilization to figure out the broad sequence of events. But any event can be zoomed in on and expanded in more detail. From a military perspective, you could zoom in on a battle and see how it unfolds, then zoom in on I dicidual characters and see how they fought.

In a more peaceful context, you could zoom in on a city at a given point in time, and based on things like the current technology, available resources, culture, and size of the city you ca see what the city is like. Then you could zoom in one some people lovo g there and see what their life is like.

Using this enginez you can time travel to any point in history and visit it.

But you ca also make changes. Maybe you show up and tilt a key battle. Maybe you start a civil rights movement. Maybe you track down the guy who invented something and kill him.

The game then ripples this change upwards. How does this change effect the mid level events? How does that change the higher level course of history?

You would start off with a bad future. Maybe robots took over. Maybe it's a nuclear Armageddon.

So you go back in time and try to make changes to get a better outcome. Maybe you fix the first issue and another appears. Maybe you get an okay future but want to craft a utopia. Maybe you want to go through history and prevent every calamity.
