Is Skype very useful, or obsolete?
Skype is still very useful quality calls with family, business, contacts, etc.

What's Skype? Discord, FaceTime, TeamSpeak have made it to where we don't need Skype at all.

Well, Skype is more reliable - especially from a business point of view. Discord has multiple outages every month and would be very inconvenient in a company environment. On top of this, it's actually marketed as being more of an informal communication tool so not really even considered by those groups. Skype will always be better in terms of it's uptime and quality of service - let's remember Microsoft is behind it, now.

You can just use Slack. It's legit formed like discord but it's made for businesses

I've never liked Skype in general. It was always known as unsafe, unreliable, and kind of a pain in the ass to open up and wait 50 hours for everything to load. It just felt early 2000s ish. Like Aim or some shit.

I've fully transitioned to discord fairly easily. Although discord is advertised for "gamers", it's also really good for general group chats. I know a lot of people who aren't hardcore gamers but love discord.

I also now use Slack for business related stuff
