1st is not true. I checked it last night. Without deactivating the cheats the game does not crash. I haven't checked with de-activating. The game will definitely crash if you exit trainer while playing and start trainer again without exiting the game as well.
2nd someone said a few posts above that even if you set your ship damage to zero you will still acquire damage if too many ships are firing at you simultaneously.
