Back in the early years of DarkRP and Garry's Mod's conception, the gamemode was a fun social gamemode, that involved all players to react and adhere to other players, not admins like it is today. So many servers are too controlling and don't allow the populace to properly RP. This gamemode can be designed for anyone, it just needs a community that doesn't fall for cheap tactics like pay to win, and garbage content leaked servers.
