It doesnt matter much in which mode you use the trainer. The more significant impact you do according to their server checks, the more they will notice you.
Like, jumping around galaxy, permanently supercharged. Or farming combat zones without significant movement and your shields not even dropping (afk turret farm).
The open, multiplayer just increases the chance, like other players noticing your behaviour, like something that your ship shouldnt be able to do (you can tell someone is not saving his wep capacitator while shooting plasmas for expample, thus not heating at all, which IS noticable)

Supercharge works just like you supercharge your FSD against neutron star. So its your effective jump range x4. The button just does exactly that, without needing to meet a Neutron Star. Then you have to plan your route each jump, manually. So lets say, you have "normal" jump range 30Ly. Supercharge it, you get 120Ly. You have to go to galaxy map, put a pin to a star less than 120Ly away and then just jump.
The route planner doesnt work with it, because it relies on physically overcharging your FSD against said star. Trainer bypasess that, so you may have increased JR, but it doesnt affect route planning.

That's what I thought initially but it doesn't make any sense in my case the sindy is a free sindy with E class FSD, no engineering. So it has a jump range of ~7 lys. Multiply this by 4 = 28 lys. But I can jump > 100...
Now my DBX has an A-rated FSD, D-rated everything else to save weight, engineered grade 5 FSD for max jump range and everything else for lightweight max. So it has 50+ Lys laden jump range. So it should be able to do > 200 LYs with the supercharge. But game crashes if I go above 50+ nominal jump range. I am completely confused..
