As someone who's played with close friends who've decided to go the pay-for-skill route on several games, I can say with certainty, in most cases they need to purchase skill rather than actually get good at a game by playing it.
I have over 500 hours on CSGO and I'm still not very good, yet my friend with 2.1 hours on record will destroy me because he has walls & an aimbot script. If someone is willing to spend real currency just to be better at a virtual form of entertainment due to shear lazyness, I'd say they just suck at the game.
