Is mining dead?

I don't think mining is dead, but I think that it requires you to pay a lot of money in order to get started and keep profitable.

For example, you can't mine BTC with GPUs anymore if you want to make big bucks. Instead, you gotta spend loads of money on Antminers and power in order to make it sustainable. And don't even get me started on NiceHash haha!
