What's a good server

I'm in agreeance with most other here; a personal server with you and your friends is the best. One of you can do a little research and host a server on your own PC, or you can find relatively cheap hosting online. Vanilla is fun, but if you find yourself getting bored of it install some plugins with Spigot.
