i know i'm late to this thread, but for future reference this might help:
keep your mind clear, try not to think about too much stuff because it can stimulate your body and mood and prevent you from sleeping. try laying in your bed with your eyes closed and try to imagine your room around you, every tiny detail. feel free to look around with your eyelids closed, just imagine your room.
make sure to stay extremely still, if you feel an itch, don't itch it. it's a signal your body is putting out. there's other things you might feel, for instance, the urge to swallow when there's no reason to.
