That way, you can easily learn how to play the game without having random strangers yelling at you. I'm relatively new to Minecraft as well, my D&D friends got my wife and I a copy of the game for Christmas and we've been playing on their server here and there. Plus, you and your friends can create buildings your way, and you guys can play however you want.
