In the long-run nothing, but for a brief moment it may sound like the best path for someone.
I may wanna believe that most cheaters at the end do not have bad intentions.
We need to de-construct a cheater.

Gaming especially in any game genre that is somehow competitive, what is one common thing all competitive games share?
Toxicity.

Something which is at the end just makes us human. A burst of emotions. Depending on the person one may have it better under control than others.
Yet if players kick off each other on the wrong foot. Hatred will develop. This may happen again and again and again.
While these person may not have any friends able to calm them down or talk some sense into them, what happens?
The person talks with himself in the head. A conversation which is already bound to be one-sided.
Given the fact that nowadays it is quite easy to find a cheat or in general just pay x with just a click the following has to be considered.
A player who is full of depression and full of bad moments and never caught on friends may get to the conclusion to cheat.
Once that happens and the player finds a cheat rather easy. It is just 2-3 clicks away to have it.
Not really giving some time to think about it.

Then the cheats are loaded. Nobody is pointing fingers....yet.
People that cheat still enjoy the game but in a different manner.
Some cheaters even play legit and just want to have fun. Just taking the entire competitive around.
Some cheaters even just use ESP just to analyze behaviour.
Some cheaters go full rage. These most of the time are just briefly hackers while also being the ones getting banned the fastest.

At the end we all are humans. I feel like no matter if you cheat or not we shall not point fingers onto someone forever.
We need to keep in mind that cheaters are still human. It will also break them if all point fingers while THEY are alone.

This reply went way longer than I thought at start, but I was in a flow so I just went with it.
