COBOL is in high demand, but it has a very small market. Invest time in new languages like Rustlang. I depends on what industry you are interested in. Python if you are into data science. PHP if you want a job quick. For freelance JavaScript and Web Design languages are popular. What really matters is creating full blown softwareproducts with your skills.
