Most hours spent on one game?

Easily put over 1k into Elder Scrolls Online between Pc and console.
I remember playing my Pokemon Sapphire cartrige well past 500 hours until eventually the internal battery in the game cartridge died. No idea how I got so much content out of Pokemon games as a kid.

I want to play Rust so badly. It was the first game I ever installed on my Steam account. I just can't get past the very start.
