What's your earliest memory?

sitting by the turned-off TV, playing with one of those cool marble sculpture slide things, and realizing "I'm going to remember this".
don't know why it occurred to me but it always stuck. must have been like 5, give or take.

apparently I was in hospital when I was 2 years old and I remember the smell of the vanilla-orange ice cream cups but nothing else.
